“As I used to tell my brother Ronnie, don't
play a con game with God. You can't say, well, I'll do it later or feel you can
roll the dice and just wait until another time to make that important decision.
You may not have that option in the future!”

SCRIPTURE
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your
heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their
trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6:14-15
REFLECTION
I just can’t forgive that person for what they
did to me!
Many in our world are bound by the chains of
unforgiveness. Like the cancer invading our flesh, unforgiveness is a cancer
invading, and insinuating its tendrils into the very heart of our soul! In
Matthew 6:14-15, God makes it very clear that until we forgive others, He will
not have a relationship with us!
In her article entitled “Forgiveness: How it
Manifests in our Health, Well-being, and Longevity”, Kathi Norman shares the
following:
“Failing to forgive, or unforgiveness, is the
practice of engaging in ruminative thoughts of anger, vengeance, hate, and
resentment that have unproductive outcomes for the ruminator, such as increased
anxiety, depression, elevated blood pressure, vascular resistance, decreased
immune response, and worse outcomes in coronary artery disease.”1
In Ephesians 4:31, Paul instructs us to do the
following:
“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger,
and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be
ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for
Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
Failing to forgive someone, allows the person
to subconsciously control you. You can break the mental chains causing a separation
from God when you forgive!
PRAYER
Our Heavenly Father,
Help us to forgive those who have trespassed
against us!
Although we may have been hurt and betrayed by
others,
Help us to break the mental chains separating
us from God,
Help us to be chain breakers!
Although we cannot understand why you allow us
to suffer,
We are comforted by the knowledge that through
our suffering
You allow us to turn to You in repentance.
Then we are able
To spend an eternity with You in a loving
relationship!
In precious name Jesus our Lord and Savior,
Amen!
