Quotation
“My spirit man has been saved
and made righteous because of Christ's righteousness; my spirit man is holy
because of Christ's holiness. The void, the chasm, the separation from God has
been removed. Because of His shed blood on the cross at Calvary, my sins have
been forgiven. I've been made right in the eyes of God. I've been justified in
the sight of God. Sin no longer separates me from Him.”
Barry Denzil Haney
Verse
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Reflection
No way! A serial killer cannot
go to Heaven!
We can be sure God hates the
act of murder, rape, pedophilia, and all sine because he tells us this in the
following Bible verses:
The
Lord trieth the righteous: But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul
hateth. Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, And a
horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
Psalm
11:5-6
As
it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that
understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of
the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good,
no, not one.
Romans
3:10-12
We can also be sure God does
not distinguish between types of sin. God turns his back on any sin. Because we
are all sinners in God’s eyes, we are condemned to an eternity separated from
God, in a place called hell.
In the article, “What Does God
Think of Murderers, Rapists and Paedophiles”, the authors make
this observation about what sin in God’s eyes:
“God created us to live with
Him. But we prefer to live without Him, doing our own things, living our own
lives, setting our own priorities and valuing ourselves above Him. That is what
the Bible means when it uses the word “sin”. And we are all guilty of sin, from
the Pope to Hitler, “there is none who does good, no, not one” because we all
ignore God, our Creator.”1
Many in today’s world cannot
accept David Berkowitz’, Jeffrey Dahmer’s and other serial killer conversion
stories. They feel their sins against humanity are too egregious. After all,
they will argue in the case of Jeffrey Dahmer, he was a mass murderer who
dismembered his victims and ate their body parts!
Those who espouse this belief,
think serial killers’ conversion stories cannot be sincere. These same people
can’t believe God could forgive anyone who commits such horrible sins. They
hang their hats on the following Bible verse:
“For the wages of sin is death;
But they ignore the second part
of this verse:
“but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
Hallelujah, there are no sins
He can’t forgive! His resurrection was for all. There is no limit to God’s
love. Saul before he became Apostle Paul was also a murderer, something he had
in common with serial killers. The other thing murderers and all sinners have
in common is the fact Jesus died for them! Thank you Jesus!

We all have seen and used those
little electronic calculators. What happens if you get your information
confused or make an error? You press the “clear” button and automatically all
of the information is eliminated from the calculator. Then you begin again,
without trying to sort out the previous mistake. In fact, there is no record of
your mistake! It is lost forever!
That’s what happens to our sins
when God forgives us. The consequences may remain, but the guilt—the legal
condemnation for the offense—is gone.523
Karl Menninger, the famous
psychiatrist, says that if he could convince the patients in his psychiatric
hospitals that their sins are forgiven, 75 percent of them could walk out the
next day. So often we do not take God at his word!524
Prayer
Our Heavenly Father,
Forgive us of our sins, for we
have all
sinned. Forgive us for turning
our back
on You! You created us to have
an eternal
loving relationship with You,
but because of
pride, we look for love in all
the wrong places!
We are so sorry pride makes us
try to be like
gods! Help us each day to place
Jesus as the
focus of our attention. Help us
to accomplish
what you would have us to do to
further
Your Kingdom while we are here
on Earth!
In the precious name of Jesus
Christ our Lord and Savior,
Amen!
